This is an annual cooperative event that includes artisans of diverse styles, tastes and traditions working with clay, wood, metal, fiber, jewelry, paint, glass, paper & more!
Stop in to see works by Belfast Area Artisans
Only a few of the studios keep regular business hours throughout the year. Many studios function primarily as workshops but artisans are often willing to open their private spaces to visitors by appointment. This is one way to shop locally and directly. Please contact individual artisans to make arrangements.
Area artisans interested in joining the next Studio Tour should Contact Allegany Artisans to apply in the spring. Membership is open to artisans living/working in Allegany County. See Membership information.
SWAN DAYS NEWS
This year, Women Arts is partnering with the Statera Foundation to bring quality SWAN Days Activities and benefits to women artists around the world.
WomenArts is dedicated to increasing the visibility of women artists in all art forms. We share news about trailblazing women artists and gender parity activists all year long through the WomenArts Blog and Facebook page.
During March and April, women arts will be collaborating with the Statera Foundation to put the spotlight on women artists through Support Women Artists Now Day/SWAN Day.
Please note that the SWAN Calendar and other information about SWAN Day has moved to the SWAN Day section of the Statera Foundation website.
"WomenArts Executive Director Martha Richards will facilitate a discussion with leading SWAN organizers from New York, Connecticut, Florida, California, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Kenya, and the Czech Republic.Although these organizers have often corresponded online over the past eleven years, this will be the first time that they have met each other face-to-face. The goals of this historic gathering will be to share best practices and to find ways to increase the impact of SWAN Day. Richards will also moderate a panel discussion about SWAN Day as part of the main Statera conference on Friday, October 5."

Simeilia Hodge-Dallaway, CEO of Artistic Directors of the Future, will give a keynote at the Statera Foundation Conference
There will be a terrific line-up of speakers who will help the attendees reflect on the ways gender parity intersects with other forms of oppression such as stereotypes about race, non-binary genders, body images, and motherhood. Statera National Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from October 4-7, 2018.
While there, she will have the opportunity to discuss SWAN Days planning and opportunities with event organizers from around the world. Then, she will meet with theatre professionals from all over the country for three days of networking, socializing, experience-sharing, theatre-going and more! "The Statera conference is all about intersectional gender balance and our goal is to take action to bring artists who identify as women into full and equal participation in the American theatre and the arts."
StateraConIII will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and take place on campus at the Peck School of the Arts.

Come help the Tri-County Arts Council celebrate their 20th anniversary and thank the volunteers! Live music, light snacks, cake and beverages will be served at the Arts Council studio, 100 West Main Street, Allegany on Monday evening, October 15th from 4:30-6:30pm.
This is a free event open to the public.
The Arts Council promotes the creation, presentation and appreciation of arts and culture in the region, while nurturing education and commerce in the arts. A thriving arts and cultural community is essential for vibrant communities - especially in rural areas like ours. For 20 years, the Tri-County Arts Council (formerly the Cattaraugus County Arts Council) has played a pivotal role in supporting the arts in the region, and our recent name change reflects our official expansion to Allegany and Chautauqua counties. Last year we:
● Supported 30 organizations and artists with over $70,000 of grant funding to bring programming to communities in all three counties
● Hosted 13 gallery exhibitions at three locations through partnerships with other community organizations
● Offered more than 60 classes at which over 300 community members experienced engaging art classes
● Provided opportunities for artists to grow their creative businesses through professional development classes, sales opportunities and art festivals
● Supported 30 organizations and artists with over $70,000 of grant funding to bring programming to communities in all three counties
● Hosted 13 gallery exhibitions at three locations through partnerships with other community organizations
● Offered more than 60 classes at which over 300 community members experienced engaging art classes
